What's Up? A Sale!

Really? I have not stayed in touch with y'all. So sorry.
I truly intended to start blogging again and enjoy visiting again. But...
the last few months have been slightly busy and complicated for us.

So I found a moment to let you know that we are having a sale in our shop.
A sale of 30% off. It's a going out of business sale.
I did not know that we would be closing our Old Time Pickers shop.
This sudden decision is due to changes within our lives and what are future goals are.

When things settle down we will be opening our new shop, Old Time Farmhouse.
So looking forward to this new adventure and challenge.
We hope to bless your heart and your home with items from Old Time Farmhouse.

So what can I do for you now over at Old Time Pickers?
What I thought might be fun is to give you, my Old Time Friends, a bigger discount than 30% off.
That's right. I'm giving my blog readers a special code to receive a whopping 40% off.
All ya have to do is go shopping at Old Time Pickers, put what ya want in your cart, and put in the coupon code to receive 40% off.
Sale lasts through May 10.

Coupon code is:
OLDTIMEFRIEND1

That's it! So easy peasy. Hope to see you there!

Bless your heart and home,
Cindy

Changing It Up & Stepping Out In Faith

One tiny step at a time. Baby steps. Terrifying steps.
It's all about changing it up. I ask myself, why am I doing this? Can't I just be content?
What is this unsettling feeling that I need to do more? Or the need to do something different?

'We walk by faith, not by sight' - 2 Corinthians 5:7

I must say that stepping out in faith isn't always easy for me, but I believe it's necessary.
After much prayer and consideration, this is the year I'll be opening a new business.
'Old Time Farmhouse' will specialize in home and garden decor to bless your heart and home.
We'll have inspirational items with simple charm and sweet grace to celebrate your family, friends, and faith.
The inspiration comes from each piece containing positive and uplifting messages.
All made by us or by small cottage industries here in the U.S.

I truly feel blessed and so excited with this new direction. And this 'Blessed' sign, above, will be available in our shop.
I gifted this sign to my best friend and soul sister who blogs at The Country Farm Home.
This is her home and photo. She has such a knack when it comes to decor, don't ya think? Love her style!

We all need reminders now and then, a tad of inspiration to make our home inviting, comfortable, and charming.
Words are powerful. Why not embrace scripture, quotes, and sayings that promote a positive frame of mind?
I'll admit, I came from a negative background. Words were hurtful and meant to degrade.
Maybe this is why I feel a calling to start a business that could lift you up right in your own home.
Striving for harmony in your home and in your life is a good thing.

It will take time for me to pull this new business all together, but so worth it.
I'll keep you updated as I continue on this new journey. One step at a time.

Bless your heart & home,
Cindy

Happy Holidays

Whoa...long time, long see! I'm stoppin' in to say 'hi' and 'what's up?'
Hard to believe that so much time has passed and that the year 2016 is coming to a close.

So much has happened since I've been here last. Both ups and downs.
Must say that I've been enjoying those ups including 2 grandchildren with a third on the way.

We still have our Old Time Pickers shop filled with vintage and primitive decor.
I'm also working on a new shop, Old Time Farmhouse, with a Wordpress blog.
Creating my own website is taking some time.
I'm a dinosaur (old and slow) and try to keep it all simple.

Anyhoo...
wanting to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Love to you.

Happy Spring, A Better Pickin' Season!

First of all...
Happy Spring Day to y'all!
It fills one with hope and wonderful things to come, doesn't it?
Sigh. It has been a long hard winter and I'm looking forward to spending some time outdoors.
I think my garden missed me and I'm looking forward to getting reacquainted with it.

It seems like I haven't been on here much. Lots happening here.
My shop needs some new merchandise listed to make it more exciting again.
Let me tell you, that is another reason the coming of spring is a blessing.
It's a better pickin' season which makes for a better shop.
Now I do have some things hidden away here and there that are patiently waiting for me.
I'll be working on getting them listed so they can find new homes soon.

It's funny how I find things that I have completely forgotten about that I have previously picked.
Like these cool brass cow tags. I came across them stuffed in a bag on a shelf.
I immediately listed two of the five I had and they quickly sold.
They were bought by another blogger who makes some really cool upcycled items.

I'll probably list two more of the cow tags soon, but I've decided that I need/must keep one for myself. What I like is that these tags each have the old, rusty chain that actually went around the cow's neck which are harder to find these days. I have a few ideas on what and where I want my tag to go. Once I decide, I'll have to share.

Just yesterday, I had a sale for three rustic items which are going to CA. The customer emailed me her concerns on how I was going to package two pitchforks and a wheel. No problem. Actually, it will be a piece of cake. Way back when, I shipped a cast iron fireplace surround to CA. Well, I should say we as hubby had to build a wooden box for it. It was a really cool piece. That surround is one thing (out of many) that I really, really wish I had kept. It was salvaged out of an old home that was being torn down and had its own personal private history. What's funny is that the person who bought it had no clue what she wanted to do with it. She just had to have it. Can you relate?

Well, time to get busy. So much to do and never a dull moment.
Wishing you a warm and wonderful weekend!!!

Revisiting More Farmhouse Features

Hey y'all! It's that time again.
Time to go back and visit a couple of Farm Fresh Features of the past.

First, we have Dawn of Creative Cain Cabin.
It was so fun to feature her and her colorful log cabin.

Dawn sure has an eye for color and knows how to make it work.
Such a sweet style! Sigh.

Check out her feature here.

Check out her blog here.

And next we have Elizabeth of Blue Clear Sky.

Her farm style reflects all things country and rustic.
Isn't it lovely?

Check out her feature here.

Check out her blog here.
(Her new blog name is Rustic Maple.)

Thanks for stoppin' by and checking out the features!
