Featured Whites - Country Whites Weekend #5

A big country hello this fine Friday morning to y’all!

Did ya enjoy your Country Whites weekend? We sure did!
You embraced your country whites and shared them with us!
Such fun. So inspirational. Lots of country charm.

I and The Country Farm Home thank you for taking the time to join us.
We feel privileged to call you our country gal friends!

We want to stress that you MUST have a link (that works) within you post that directs to
Old Time Farmhouse
Again, four participants were bumped out of the top five because they did not follow the rules. Sorry!

So are you ready?
It's time to announce our features! The top five with the most views...

1. Is It Porch Season Yet? by Chateau Chic

I'm an outdoor kind of gal so I took to this right away!
Nothin' like making the porch all pretty with the warmer weather arriving.
She pulled it all together so nicely with her chippy plant stand.

Please country check it out! She'd be pleased if ya paid her a visit.

2. 5 Minute No Sew Shams & Curtains for $6 by Design Dreams By Anne

Don't sew? No problemo!
Tea towels and fusible tape will do the job quite nicely here.
So pretty and a great color combo, too.
I can see these pillows in my home.

Please country check it out! She'd be tickled for ya to come on over.

3. Country Whites by Have a Daily Cup of Mrs. Olson

She went pickin' and ended up with a bunch of white goodies.
Some really nice finds.
I think I would have picked all the same things.
We'd be a fun mess if we ever went pickin' together.

Please country check it out! She'd be happy to see ya drop by.

5.  Old Cupboard Turned Shabby-Chic Bookcase by The Attic of Kassandra

She redid an old rustic cabinet into a thing of beauty.
Paint, paper, and a sweet little angel did the trick.
So many possibilities for this pretty piece.

Please country check it out! She’d be glad to have you over.

Want to know who was #4 with the most views?
Head on over to my Country Whites Weekend partner at The Country Farm Home.
She’ll fill you in!

If you were featured, please feel free to grab our button to place on your blog.

Country Whites Weekend is always held the third Friday of every month.
The next party will be held May 17 so mark your calendar.
We're looking forward to seeing y'all then!

Lost and Found

I've been a little lost lately.
Lost without my Google Reader.
Anyone else out there having the same problem?

We all know that Google Reader is going away.
Not happy about that at all.
It takes time to find something else.
It takes time to learn something else.
It takes time that I really don't have.

I'm trying to make my life easier, not more difficult.
And my goal is not to be on the computer all day.
I doubt any of us will say at the end of our lives...
'Gee, I wish I had spent more time on my computer.'

I don't do Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Hometalk, and anything else that might be out there.
Heck, if you really want to know how techie I am not, I'll tell you that I barely know how to use my cellphone. I prefer it that way.

What do I use besides a reader?
Blogger & Pinterest & My Etsy Shop
That's it. That's enough.
Maybe some of you don't even use that.
Stand up. Be proud. Tell all.

So back to Goggle Reader.
I went ahead and found Bloglovin' and Feedly.
Downloaded both which was extremely easy.
Once I did that, my Google Reader was no longer available.
I had to use Bloglovin' and/or Feedly. And right now.

I started playing around with Bloglovin' to read the blogs I follow.
For me it was very slow loading.
And when I wanted to comment, sometimes it would say the frame could not be loaded.
I had to leave without commenting.
This went on for a couple of weeks so I finally moved onto Feedly.

I think Feedly is more my style for a reader.
I will need to learn my way around and set it up correctly (which will take up time I don't have, remember?).
So for now, I'm still a little lost.
Hopefully soon, I can say I've found my way around again.
Hopefully. Soon.

Country Whites Weekend #5 - A Simple Stool

Today is going to be a farmtastic Friday, don't you think!?!
I think so cause we can start the day off with a party...
Country Whites Weekend!
A big welcome to y'all...

Today, I want to share a simple stool with you.
Poor thang, it looks plain and pitiful.

I had it for sale and no one wanted it. So sad.
But, I still saw the potential.

I knew a little TLC would make all the difference.

It was painted white at one time.
Even the red vinyl seat was painted white and showed lots of wear and tear.
I wanted to keep the worn and chipped white metal, so my plan was to get busy with that seat.
I unscrewed the seat from the stool, removed the vinyl and used it as a pattern to cut out some burlap.

I had a small piece of burlap with a graphic on it that would add to the look I was going for.

I quickly sewed it on, stapled the burlap to the bottom of the seat, and screwed the seat back on.

Ta-da! It's no longer sad and now it's mine!

Now it's your turn.
It’s plain and simple and oh, so sweet.
Embrace your country whites and share them here!
Inspire us. Take us home. Fill us with country charm.

He's My Boy

I was looking for a specific photo for my Country Whites Weekend post
(which starts tomorrow morning-wink)
when I came across this photo.

His name is Dale and he's my boy. He claimed me and his little brother, Chip, took to my hubby.
We are a good match. He is so loyal and dedicated.
He feels his job is to watch over me and the whole yard for any possible danger.
On day he even took care of a large snake that came a little too close to me.

He is a hound dog...some beagle and blue heeler. And a runner. Beagles are notorious for taking off.
Their noses lead them on adventures that can cause them trouble.
So he has a nice fenced in area. It makes me sad. I feel dogs should run just for the fun of it.
I do take him for a walk around the lake every day.
Sometimes we run part of it which makes him happy.

Dale and I always look for deer on our walks.
I just say the word and he stands very still while surveying the landscape.
Yesterday, we came across 4 deer at the side of the woods.
He's as fascinated with them as they are with him.

Dale is my companion and best bud.
I'd do anything for him and I know he'd do the same for me.
He's changed my life and who I am.
Dogs do that, you know.

Hugs & Prayers

Sending out farmhouse hugs and prayers to all those impacted by the terrible event that occurred at the Boston Marathon. My daughter was a marathon runner before she had her baby and had qualified for the Boston Marathon in the past. So thankful for all those who stepped in to show kindness and bravery for those in need. Blessings to each and all today.

A happy Friday morning to y'all!
Weather has been warming up here and the storms have passed us over.
Lookin' forward now to a beautiful weekend!
Spring always brings oodles of enjoyable and energizing work in the great outdoors.

But before I start enjoying this spring weather, I thought I'd better stop and share the top viewed links from last week's Old Time Party.

Clocks are being made out of everything over there. So cute and creative!

~Just A Little Farmhouse Decorating @ Cynthia Lee Designs~

She shared her changes in her living room and dining room. Such pretty and fresh farmhouse vignettes!

She shared her fun getaway in farm country. Now that's my kind of trip!

Spring Has Sprung

Spring has arrived!

Forsythia is in bloom.

Clothes are hanging on the line.

Spring blossoms are popping up out of the ground.

Seeds have been sown.

And sweet little eggs are waiting to hatch.

Spring has definitely arrived here at Old Time Farmhouse.
Has it arrived for you?

Old Time Party #7

Happy Friday, y'all!!!

It’s time for an Old Time Party right here at the farmhouse!
Come on and get your farm gal/guy on! Feel free to join in...the more the merrier!

The Old Time Party is held the first Friday of every month at 6:00 am.
Party will be up and going strong through Sunday evening.
The features will be announced the following Friday.

I've mentioned before that I have been shoveling (aka spring cleaning) out the back room that serves as my craft and photo room. I have props that I use for my shop photos. They were crammed onto some shelves and I decided it was time to arrange them with their own shelving unit. It makes it a bit more attractive and I can see what I have to use so much better now. The pieces are fun and inspire me. Now that I have completed the decluttering process, the whole room feels so light and airy and gives me more energy. When ya have too much stuff, it can really drag you down. So the spring cleaning will continue.

So what have you been doing? Please share here at the party!
I'm callin’ on y’all to link up anything with a Down on the Farm Flair…
Cooking. Gardening. Homesteading. Crafting. Sustainable Living. Critters. D├ęcor.
Anything that will show us a good 'old time' down on the farm.

***Old Time Rules***
*Write your post first and link back to Old Time Party with text or link back with the Old Time Party photo within your post.
*Be sure to link up your post url, not your blog url.
*Please become a follower.
*Visit other party participants to spread the farmhouse love.
*All photos that you share must be yours.
*Linking to shops, giveaways, parties, blog hops, and ads is not allowed.
*Please link up something that you have not already shared here.

Okay…now do some boot scootin’ and get linked up for some farmtastic fun at the
Old Time Party!
